To know about the snowball viburnum

The snowball viburnum, also called Obier, is a beautiful shrub that blooms as beautifully in the spring as its foliage in the fall.

Flowering takes place in spring (April to June).

Snowballs are both fragrant and honey-bearing, which helps attract pollinating insects to the garden.

In flowered hedges, isolated or in shrub beds, it is very easy to grow and maintain.

Among the viburnums, we also find the tin laurel or viburnum tinus, well known in our gardens, but also the Watanabe viburnum whose flowering lasts a very long time, from May to October.

Origin of the Snowball viburnum:

The origin of viburnum opulus is found in Europe, naturally but also in North Africa and Asia.

It acclimatized very well to the humidity offered by the humid undergrowth but also to the hedgerows of rather humid areas.

Are the berries edible?

Snowball berries can be eaten after cooking.

They are harvested in the fall, after the first frosts.
